On Sunday 26th May 2024, roads in Ashford will be closed from 14.00hrs to 16.00hrs to allow for a procession through the village.

  • The 14.15hrs Transpeak from Buxton to Derby will not serve Ashford (timed to depart Ashford at 14.53hrs) but will continue on the A6 (The Duke’s Drive).
  • The 12.35 hrs and the 13.35hrs departures from Derby will also not serve Ashford (timed to depart Ashford at14.08 hrs and 15.08hrs respectively).

Please note: The nearest available alternative bus stops will be on Dukes Drive (A6).

Service 199

Due to resurfacing works on the A6, the Skyline 199 will be on diversion between 9am and 4pm each day. 

Skyline 199 from Buxton – it will operate through Furness Vale to Newtown and New Mills, but instead of operating via Albion Road back to Newtown, it will divert via B6101 Hague Bar Road through Hague Bar, onto Strines Road and through Strines (B6101) towards Marple, where it will continue on B6101 Stockport Road, left at E&J Sutton Pet Shop onto Hibbert Lane, continue on Upper Hibbert Lane (Hawk Green) on to Windlehurst Road (Marpleridge), continue on Windlehurst Road through Windlehurst, where it will re-join its normal line of route at The Horse Shoe Inn on High Lane.

Skyline 199 from Manchester Airport – it will operate the reverse of the above.

Please note, the following stops will not be served:
Swan Hotel, Peveril Gardens, Overdale Road, Greenshall Lane in Newtown.
Buxton Rd, White Lion PH, The Albert Hotel in Danebank.
Ram’s Head Hotel, Railway Station, offices, Lyme Park, Park Road in Disley.
Alders Road, Carr Brow, Brookside Lane, Dog & Partridge in High Lane.

Customers should expect longer than normal journey times (anywhere up to 25 minutes), whilst the diversion is in place.

Service Trans Peak

Derbyshire County Council start works on Bakewell Road to improve passenger boarding facilities at the bus stops. 

For the duration of the closure, the Trans Peak service towards Derby (Southbound) will, temporarily depart from Bay 2 at Matlock Interchange.

Glossop Victoria WeekendDate: Saturday 1st June 2024

Glossop Victorian Weekend

The organisers of the event, The Glossop Round Table, will be working in Henry Street from Friday afternoon (31st May), but the road will not be closed to all traffic until first thing Saturday. 

From the first bus on Saturday, our Glossop area bus services, will be diverted and have revised terminal, and start points along with some temporary bus stops.

Service 61

The 61 will operate as normal to Victoria Street, but then turn right onto High Street East to the roundabout, where it will comply the roundabout and return to High Street East and terminate at the temporary bus stop located outside Glossop Fish Bar (20-22 High Street East).

The 61 to Buxton will commence from the temporary bus stop located outside Glossop Fish Bar on High Street East, where it will continue on High Street East, left on Victoria Street, back on its normal line of route. 

Additional setting down points:
Victoria Street, opposite Dominoes (Temporary Bus Stop)
Outside the Howard Arms on High Street East. 

Service 390

From Whitfield, the 390 will stop at the temporary stop on Victoria Street (opposite Dominoes) and the temporary stop located outside number 15 on Norfolk Street (30m past the Star Inn). 

From Shire Hill, the 390 will operate as normal to High Street East, but instead of using the usual Henry Street stop, it will use the temporary bus stop located outside Glossop Fish Bar. Once loaded, it will operate via High Street East, left at the traffic lights onto Victoria Street, back on its normal line of route. 

 

Service 393

From Padfield, the 393 services will be unable to serve Arundel Street and will operate via Talbot Road and Norfolk Street, where it will continue into High Street East. The bus stop at The Howard Arms will be the timing point, instead of Henry Street, and passengers should use this stop for the duration of the closure. 

From Shirebrook, the 393 services will operate as normal to High Street East, continue on High Street East, and right into Norfolk Street. Passengers should use the temporary stop located outside number 15 on Norfolk Street (30m past the Star Inn).
