Fare Revisions

From the 4th September 2022 there will be changes to some tickets in the Greater Manchester area in addition to the new capped fares that are being introduced. These changes only affect routes 199 and 394.

Return tickets will no longer be available for journeys wholly within the Greater Manchester area. Passengers can instead purchase the reduced price System One or Get Me There day tickets which offer better value, or buy two single fares at the new capped rates. Return tickets will still be available for journeys operating between Greater Manchester and Derbyshire or Cheshire East, and for journeys wholly within Derbyshire or Cheshire East.

Additionally, we will no longer offer student fares for journeys wholly within the Greater Manchester area. Any GM-area residents in full-time education can apply for the ‘Our Pass’ card which allows free travel. Again, student tickets will still be available for journeys operating between Greater Manchester and Derbyshire or Cheshire East, and for journeys wholly within Derbyshire or Cheshire East.

In addition to the above changes, Metro Day tickets will no longer be available on any service from 11th September 2022. These are priced the same as the reduced price as System One and Get Me There day tickets which can be purchased as an alternative.

On the 4th September, Derbyshire Wayfarer will increase their Adult Day, Concessionary Day, and Group Day ticket prices:

On Board Tickets New Price
Adult Day £14.00
Group Day £25.20
Concessionary Day £7.00

No M-Tickets available

Also on the 4th September, GMTL are changing their 1 Day AnyBus Adult and Junior fares to coincide with the TFGM fare capping:

1 Day AnyBus Adult is going from £6.40 to £5.00.

1 Day AnyBus Child is going from £3.20 to £2.50.

From Sunday 11th September 2022, we will be withdrawing the Metro Day ticket.
The Metro Week £16.50 ticket will still be available to purchase on bus or as an
M-Ticket.
